Marcelino Cervantes, a gifted farmer, joined the Trust in the spring of 2021. He came to the United States from Mexico when he was 16 years old, learning how to prune and landscape as part of a vineyard crew in Orange Cove before working his way up to become one of Peck Ranch Winery’s most respected farmers. Marcelino learned his skills from on-the-job experience; he understands how grapes and other fruits interact with their environment and how they respond to various conditions. His greatest asset has always been his intuition. After more than 35 years in the farming industry, his passion for all matters related to the farm life cycle remains, especially at Sumner Peck Ranch.
